The SMT-i5243 is Samsung’s new top of the line IP phone.  The SMT-i5243 is compatible with the OfficeServ 7030, 7100, 7200-s, 7200 and 7400 telephone systems.  The SMT-i5243 features Caller ID with photo, downloadable ring tones and pictures, USB port for connecting a memory stick, and a web camera for video calling to other Samsung video phones.

The SMT-i5243 features a 4.3″ Color LCD screen, built in headset jack (rj-22), 14 programmable buttons and a full duplex speakerphone

OS 8TRK 2 Card

The Samsung OfficeServ 8TRK (KP-OSDB8T2) card provides 8 ports for analog trunk lines with Caller ID capabilities to the OfficeServ 7100, 7200, 7200-S and 7400 telephone system.

The OS8TRK card can be installed in any of the universal slots.  There are 8 LED lights which indicate the status of the ports.

• Off – Trunk is not in use
• On – Trunk is in use
• Blink – Incoming call is ringing on the trunk port

OfficeServ 7200-S MP20S Card

The Samsung OfficeServ 7200-S MP20S Card is the Main Processor for the 7200-S Phone system.  On the MP20S Card you will find 4 connection ports for the 4DLM or 4SWM cards, a MISC port for external MOH/BGM, paging devices and loud bell, a media card slot for the MP20S SD media storage card, a LAN Port and a SIO Port.

The MP20S processor has a built in voicemail (52 hours storage) and auto-attendant.  The voicemail/AA is available with up to six ports for processing voicemail/AA traffic.

The MP20S processor also features six embedded MGI channels for Samsung VoIP phones, IP networking and  SIP Trunking.

Media Proxy Service

A new feature of the MP20S processor card is the Media Proxy Service.  This allows IP devices to connect to other IP devices without the need for MGI channels.  Up to 8 VoIP to VoIP conversations occur without the need to purchase MGI licenses or an MGI Card.   SIP Stations, VoIP Phones and SIP trunks all count as IP devices.

The OS7030 cabinet provides the processing, memory and switching.  It comes with two built-in single line ports, two slots for station cards and one dedicated slot for the trunk card.  The basic system comes without any trunk cards or station cards to help keep costs down for those that want to use SIP trunks or IP keysets.

The 7030 has an embedded auto-attendant and voice mail.  Only the Auto-Attendant is active by default though, the voice mail must be licensed in order to function.   When activated the voice mail will provide 2 ports, over 14 hours of storage time, up to 256 voice mailboxes and will deliver messages to email as a .wav attachment (5 seats are included but you will need another license to unlock more than 5 email seats).

The OS7030 also has 4 MGI (Media Gateway Interface) channels for VoIP features.  These channels must also be activated through purchasing a one to four port license.  These MGI channels are used for IP Phones, IP networking and SIP trunks.

Adding additional station and line capabilities are achieved by adding interface modules to the main cabinet.  There are 2 station module spots and one spot dedicated for a trunk card.   Available interface modules are as follows:

2DM (2 port digital station module):  Provides 2 digital station ports for Samsung digital phones.
4DM (4 port digital station module): Provides 4 digital station ports for Samsung digital phones.
4SM (4 Port single line module): Provides 4 analog station ports.
4TM (4 port trunk line module): Provides 4 loop start ports with disconnect detection and caller ID.
4LM (4 port LAN module): Provides 4 10/100 base t ports.

Programming the OfficeServ 7030 is accomplished through keyset programming or through a web browser.

Auto Answer Mode – When someone intercoms your telephone you will hear a brief attention tone and the speakerphone will be automatically activated.    If a call is transferred to your phone in auto answer the internal (extension to extension) portion of the call will be handsfree but you must lift the handset or press the ANS/RLS or speaker button to answer the outside call.

Ring Mode – When a call is transferred to your telephone it will ring until you press the ANS/RLS button, speaker button or lift the handset.

Voice Announce – Your telephone will not ring.  After a short attention tone the caller can make an announcement but the handsfree microphone is not activated.  In order to reply to the caller you must lift the handset or press the ANS/RLS or speaker button to reply.

To change your answer mode:

1. With your handset in the cradle press the Transfer Key
2. Dial 103
3. Press one of the following
   1. 0 for Ring Mode
   2. 1 for Auto Announce
   3. 2 for Voice Announce
4. Press Transfer to store and exit from programming

1. Double click or expand 4. Group and Table
2. Double click or expand 4.4 System Speed Dial
3. Click on 4.4.0 System Speed Dial
4. In an available Speed Dial No (500-999) enter 9 for the trunk number
5. Enter the telephone number just as you would dial it from a telephone
6. Enter a name for the speed dial number (optional)
7. Click on the save icon to send the information to the telephone system
