A voice mail is a very useful tool for a small busines. Voice mails can be used as back up operators or full time operators (auto-attendants). They will take messages, many will notify a cell phone or pager, screen calls and record conversations. Advanced voice mails will even deliver voice mail messages to e-mail inboxes.
Most phone systems without a voice mail have only one option when an outside call comes in. The call is sent to a phone or group of phones that act as an operator or attendant. The call rings the attendant positions until the caller either gets tired of hearing ringback and hangs up or the call is answered. |
