Analog Station Ports

A port is a physical connection that allows an external communication device to interface to the Central Processing Unit (CPU) of a telephone system.

An analog station port connects a standard analog device, credit card machine, answer machine, basic telephone, etc. to the CPU. An analog station card usually contains four, eight or sixteen ports, depending upon the manufacturer.
